Category: the Rant Board
I wish the rant board was deleted so people won't complain for every little thing. Instead of wasting your time complaining, do some thing about it. Find constructive ways to solve the problem. Don't sit around and rant about everything cause nothing will get done.
Oh, the irony! Hilarious. So is putting a post on the rant board to complain about people who complain on the rant board your idea of doing something constructive. Because, really, not so much problem fixing going on here. Just sayin'.
Incorrect: Complains Complains Complains
Correct: Complaints Complaints Complaints
HTH
Omg lmao. so u want the rant board to go away cause u think everyone complains to much, but then you're up here yourself complaining about the board. that's pretty messed up if u ask me
I'm sure that what post 1 is getting at is that people tend to complain about things that can easily be figured out, or trivial matters. Having said that, people are complaining about her complaints. This can get interesting.
To post 3: I'm sure you can get a job correcting board titles.
I could comment on the irony of this topic, but as others have already taken care of that, I'll focus on the topic itself. I disagree for two reasons. Firstly, if someone wants to complain, they'll complain. If they can't do it in this category, they'll move it to some other category, whichever is most applicable. Secondly, there's not necessarily anything wrong with having a rant. It's not always a case of being lazy and not sorting your problems out - sometimes people just need to get stuff off their chest.
I'd like to complain that people complain about Pretty Girl complaining about people complaining, now if you want to complain about that, that is your problem.
Yay thats awesome that everyone that posted on my topic are complaining about Me. Nice.
I agree with poster number five. Thanks for restating my point. As for poster number six, yeah I know that people just need to get stuff off their chest. But like poster five said, the little things can be resolved before it even gets to a rant board. Laugh out loud. This post is making me laugh.
I hope I did not cause too much trouble complaining about everyone's complains. Laughs
Lmao, Wildebrew, I love it. Yes, the very nature of this topic is quite contradictory, which makes it quite amusing. PrettyGirl, if you're tired of the rant board, go read and post to the rave board. *Smile*
Exactly the point I was going to make, Alicia. There is a rave board, so why not a rant board. If you don't want to read people's complaints, simply don't read posts on the rant board. Personally, I think it's good that there is a board topic for just about everything anyone could possibly want to talk about here on the zone message boards. If a particular type of topic doesn't appeal to you, i.e., games, rants, religion, gay and lesbian subjects, etc. simply don't read those boards.
lol I got your point. lol
hi prettygurl, i'm complaining you for starting up this post for the sake of getting nothing to be done but attention. if you are bored, go and read a book or something, don't stay here, and complain for no reason. everyone have the choice to write as they wish here, and that includes complain about stuff that they don't like. you can choose to read or not to read. to complain about people complaining, somehow, seems a bit childish, and makes you one of those that like to sit and winjing for no reason too.
That's a little harsh. Even if it is totally hypocritical to complain about people complaining, knowing that doing so won't actually stop people from complaining. Like I said before, if someone wants to complain, they'll complain, even if they don't have a rant board to do it on... That's the thing about some people, and perhaps this was the point of this topic to start with... some people just complain for the sake of complaining. It does nothing to actually solve whatever problem they're complaining about. Those sort of people get on many of our nerves, but that doesn't mean we need to shoot pretty girl down for contradicting her post by posting in the first place. lol
Wow, this just gets more amusing as it goes along, and not just because of PrettyGirl, either. It's just fun deciphering lingo like Steve's. Hahahaha. Yes, I do think I get what PrettyGirl was trying to say here. There are people in life who will bitch, no matter what the circumstances, but in spite of their whining, will not make a move to change things. People like that are frustrating. But, on the other hand, sometimes things are truly out of one's control, and you just need to have a good bitching session. LOL.
Okay, poster fifteen gets what I'm trying to say. Like you all said, its okay to complain about your problems and frustrations, but not for the little things that you can fix within a minute if you think of solutions instead of whine about it. People are used to looking at the negative points of things and instead of resolving the problem; they end up doing nothing but complain. Next time, when you feel like complaining, evaluate the situation before you complain. Look at the positive and negative points of the problem, the degree to how much it will affect you or everyone around you and if its really not manageable, try asking for help. Not complain.
Lol! This is hilarious! a complaint about a complaint about a complaint. Some people have lots of time on their hands.
Did anyone stop to think that sometimes writing out one's problems helps one think more clearly about the problem itself. Yes, this can be true even if it's a minor problem because the minor problems can add up just like the major ones; it just takes a little more time. And, sometimes the minor problems can be more frustrating because they happen much more often (in most people's lives) than the major problems. Even though one chooses to write out their problems in a public fassion it doesn't necessarily mean that one is doing nothing to change the problem(s); it may just mean that they're taking the first step by clearing their heads. I'm not by any means saying that everyone does something about what they complain about, but my take on the matter may very well be the case for many. Besides, sometimes complaining is the way to get something done if the problem is out of your hands. IE, "Are the Admins burnt out or just plain lazy?" on the "Rant Board". I'm not saying anything is going to be done, but it did come to at least one admin's attention, and he was good enough to post his explanation; which at least may help some people understand. No, I've never started a rant, but I prefer to rant to my husband and than discuss with him potential solutions...Also, When I say "writing" that's just what these boards are for. Writing about things or copying other's writings about things that either the poster and/or others find of interest. Now, my question to you Prettygurl is this: What does your complaint solve? I'm not judging, just curious.
Awesome post, Cattleya. Couldn't have said it better myself.
Lmao to post 3, I love it. Wanna start a board complaining about people's grammatical errors? lol
Can I complain about so many people using the acronym lol at the end of your posts? seriously, what is so funny about this?
Hey, it's funny because I liked what that person said...so just to piss you off, I'm going to say it again, lol, because I think it's funny. So I guess I just started a whole other branch of complaining, right?
totally agree on post18. in fact, writing out things, problems, or issues no matter how major or minor they are is a type of therapy. studies suggest that, by doing so, it helps to emptying what is in your inner thoughts too.
instead of complaining, maybe we can look at how lucky we are, by not complaining, but appreaciating what we have instead. sometime, just a little act like that, will make the world more pleasant to live. :)
Complaint. (Lol)
I would like to file a complaint, but I don't know what to complain about! hahahahaha
can I complain about complaining about myself? hahahahahahaha
Um ... shouldn't this be in the suggestions board?
Um, to the poster above me, why in god's name should this be in the suggestions board? *Confused face* Did I miss something by kind of skimming these last few posts?
Cattleya, very nicely written. Journaling about problems does often help me solve them, though I'd never write about any of my major ones on here. Turtle, I do believe a rant was started on here somewhere about people's lack of grammar and inability to write in general. There's a lot of that around here, for some reason. And it is annoying. I do use the acronym, LOL, sometimes, but try to keep it to a minimum. I know how annoying it gets when people overuse it, and you know they're not usually laughing at all. That's when I just put something like, *Smile*.
Suggest. Change the name of this board to the bitch board, then see how full it gets. *smile*
"was that suppose to be on the suggestion board too?" *scratches head.
Another reason people like to rant here, on this board, is because others might possibly have some advice as to what the person could do about his/her problems.
By the way, what does "HTH" mean?
HTH means hope that helps.
Ah. Thanks. that helps. Lol!
With the amount of lol, lmao, rotflmao, and other similar expressions, I think we can describe many on the Zone as a bunch of loonies rolling about all over the floor, with no ass, unless the ass gets reattached between instances of lmao or rotflmao, at which point the ass off then reattach becomes something of a yo-yo type incident.
And to that I say the following:
lol.
To sum up my thoughts on that post, roflmao!
The best part is, the original poster was ranting about ranting.
Yep. that's what makes this topic so amusing.
i used to complain alot, but i've been taught to bottle up stuff and it's so hard to even let it out because i think it's pointless. i have years of stuff weighing twice as much on my chest.
my roomate said that if i had to cry go ahead but its better than being unable to express anything.
but i am learning to forget to cry because i get too embarrased if i doing it in public.
so the more distracted i get, the more these feelings go away with time.
Complaining about complaining is like saying, "Welcome to the rant board. However, you are expressly forbidden to use it for ranting because somebody will find your topic to be unimportant or negative." Sheesh, people, please!
No kidding.
ms gorgeous,
i am worried. should I be calling 9-11? Are you being forced to read this board against your will? If so, then you need help quickly from someone who is in the law enforcement community.
i'mjust attempting to be a smart butt. seriously it is a free country. if people want to rant, let us. go read the rave, joke, parenting, health, or any of the other myriad alternatives.
exactly!
Ahh...please please please DO NOT DELETE the rant board. Every now and then I need one. That's how I found this site, googled "rant boards". I love it. For example my "exotic pets" topic. Said woman is hospitalized here hoping literally to get a new face. Husband didn't want to hear about it, lunch friend went on vacation this week, so here it is on the rant board. I shall also go to some of the other boards, but please do not shut this one down.
You googled "rant board?"
I found this sight threw a board on the rant board too. I was googleing how to deal with sighted people who treat blind people like incapable retards.
Wow, I'm so amused by this board. It's late at night, I can't sleep so it probably doesn't take much to amuse me. Writing out my problems does often help me to find a solution. Sometimes, it helps just to know that we might not be totally alone in the experience about which we're complaining. This is a great place for another person to speak up and say something like, "I know exactly what you mean. This happened to me as well, and I solved it by..." Just my random ramblings.
Oh yes, I agree with what you say on that post. It does jog the old brain stem.
